BioPlastic and Conventional Extrusion Materials

BioPlastic Solutions utilizes both traditional extrusion materials as well as proprietary, best of breed, bioplastic materials in an attempt to progress the industry toward a more sustainable model. Each project is different and based on the needs of each project we will provide a material that best fits the specifications and profiles necessary to create the strongest, most durable solution in market.

Emerging BioPlastics

BioBest®bioresin blend

BioBest bioresin is BioPlastic Solutions patented, bio-based and sustainably sourced durable material. Sourced from corn sugarcane and other sustainable sources, BioBest® from PLA (Poly Lactic Acid), nature-based resin makes it a natural fit for eco-friendly products, manufacturing, and building materials.

Custom Profile Extrusion Materials

Flexible PVC

Flexible PVC is widely used for plastic profile extrusions because of its resistance to abrasion and ability to insulate. It is available in a wide range of durometers (hardness), clear, natural and custom colors. Flexible PVC is commonly used in gaskets for a wide range of products used in retail displays, edging and in co and tri extrusions for the building, window and door industry.

Rigid PVC

Rigid PVC is both cost effective and durable, offering a wide range of custom options and characteristics for extrusion profiles. Coming in clear, opaque, custom colors, impact weather resistant formulations that are easily machined for a large variety markets including building, windows and doors.

ABS – Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

ABS is a versatile, rigid, and high-impact plastic with similar characteristics as rigid PVC. It is used primarily in plastic profile extrusion applications where your material will be indoors and will pass prop 65 in CA. It is considered to be a more healthy option than PVC. ABS is available in both standard and custom colors.

PE – Polyethylene (HDPE, MDPE, & LDPE)

Polyethylene comes in flexible (LDPE) and ranges to semi-rigid (HDPE). A very economical material, Polyethylene is good for plastic profile extrusion applications requiring low surface resistance. Polyethylene comes in natural (translucent white), standard, and custom colors. Polyethylene can be alter with fibers and fillers to change its mechanical characteristics.

PP – Polypropylene

Polypropylene is a low cost, semi-rigid and light weight plastic with excellent chemical resistance and a fairly high service temperature. Polypropylene is available in natural (translucent white), standard, and custom colors. Polypropylene can be alter with fibers and fillers to change its mechanical characteristics.

TPE/TPU – Thermoplastic Elastomer/Polyurethane

Thermoplastic Elastomers are a unique material set combining the look and feel of standard rubbers with overall efficiency of plastics in the manufacturing process. TPEs are great for thermo extrusion production. The available range of available grades offer a wide range of durometers (hardness), along with a wide range of customization options to meet performance needs, including custom color. It is available in both virgin material all the way up to 100% recycled content with less degradation in quality.
